Suspected bandits have killed one Mr. Tiri Gyan David, a lecturer with the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, Nigeria.
The Round Table learned that Mr. Tiri is the Head of the Department 9f Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development at the University.
Mr. Tiri was reportedly killed in the early hours of Tuesday, July 2nd, while his children were allegedly taken away by the bandits.
According to an eyewitness report who spoke with Channels Television, the attack occurred around 1:30 am Tuesday, July 2nd at the lecturer’s residence in the Yarima Quarters, Low-Cost Estate, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The eyewitness further stated that the assailants arrived at the area with sophisticated weapons, shooting sporadically in all directions to entrench fears among the dwellers of the area. It was further stated that the bandits abducted two of Mr. Tiri's Children after he was murdered.
Katsina State has been under the siege of insecurity menace caused by bandits since the days of Muhammadu Buhari, a son of the soil, as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Nigerians suggested that former President Muhammadu Buhari handed the banditry menace with levity hands which allowed them to get fully established and take over the security settings of some states in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Katsina State, in consideration of the incessant killing and destruction, is currently experiencing rain seizure even at the peak of July conventional rainfall.
