Siminalayi Fubara
The caretaker chairperson of Ikwerre Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State, Mr. Darlington Orji, who was recently appointed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed about 600 individuals as his aides.
Mr. Darlington was one of the 23 local government Chairmen recently appointed by Governor Fubara after the controversial removal of the former local government caretaker Chairmen loyal to the former Governor of the state and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Mr. Darlington appointed the 600 aides into various political offices including Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Executive Assistants.
Findings revealed that Mr. Darlington spread the appointments to help the embattled Governor of the state, Fubara, put up a formidable structure to tackle the political supremacy of Nyesom Wike in the state.
Even though Mr. Darlington claimed recently on national television, Channels TV, that the newly appointed caretaker Chairmen were being prevented from gaining access to the local government secretariats by the men of the Nigeria Police Force, the appointment is an indication that all is not we with the administration of the state.
