Siminalayi Fubara Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has bowed to pressure, after months of disagreement with 27 lawmakers who are loyal to his erstwhile political godfather and immediate past Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike.
In a letter addressed to Rt. Hon Martin Amaewhule, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and duly signed by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Chief Tammy Wenike Danagogo, the governor invite the Wike's ally comprising Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule and other assembly members to a meeting at the government house.
The meeting is expected to commence by 10am on Monday, March 10th.
According to the letter Governor Fubara is expected to discuss the following: Provision of a befitting space for the Assembly's sittings; Payment of all outstanding remuneration or allowances of the Honourable members; Presentation of Budget and sundry matters; and Any other matter(s), as may be necessary, to chart the way forward in the best interest of the State.
Recall that some hours after the Supreme Court of Nigeria upheld the legitimacy of Amaewhule-led Speakership alongside his fellow members who are loyal to Wike, the House had directed Governor Fubara to represent the 2025 budget which was formerly presented to 3-member assembly members how were loyal to him in the past.

However, it is not yet ascertained whether the invitation would be honored by the Assembly members or they will insist the governor come to their chamber for any discussion.
