EPL: Why Man City extinct 1-0 to Nottingham Forest - Guardiola Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has disclosed that his team gone 1-0 to Nottingham Forest because of one moment of transition.
With the game looking set to end goalless at the City Ground, Callum Hudson-Odoi escaped down the right and squeezed his effort past Ederson.
“Tight game, we controlled the long balls to [Chris] Wood and second balls in transition,” Guardiola informed BBC Match of the Day.
“But in the second half, we departed once in transition, and Callum Hudson-Odoi finished it really well.
“It is not easy to play against them. That is why they are where they are.
“We had three or four chances in the first half. In the second half, it was a bit tighter. We conceded one chance at the near post, so in the end, the balance was for them.”
Guardiola’s men abide in fourth spot with 47 points but could be overtaken if both Chelsea and Newcastle United prevail over their matches.
