Okupe, the former Director General of the Labour Party’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Organisation died on Friday during a surgery in the Lagos hospital.
Okupe who dumped the movement to endorse the policies and administration of President Bola Tinubu – came under mockery by some.supporters of the Obidient movement immediately his family members announced his death. Some members of the Obidient movement described his decision to dump the moverment as a betrayal to the Obidient group and Peter Obi –.
In various photo posts shared on X, leaders and members of the movement revealed they were at Okupe’s family House to condole with his family.
Yunusa Tanko, the leader of the movement wrote on X, “We need to thank Morris Monye, Ife Salako, Danjuma Musa, Ekene NNPO and everyone that visited the Okupe’s family in condolence visit of the demise of Dr Doyin Okupe.
“The team was received by his son Sunkanmi Okupe who appreciated the visit and show of homogeneity to the family. He thanked everyone for organising the visit.
“Yes we are Obidients and Proud yet we will never compromise our demand for Good Governance and as human beings, our empathy will always show…………. A New Nigeria is POssible,” he said.
The visit by the members of the Obidient Movement comes barely hours after Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate paid a condolence visit to Okupe’s family.
