Governor Fintiri, while acknowledging the importance of the welfare of the civil servants in the state, stated that the newly approved minimum wage will take effect this month, August 2024.

He said As a demonstration of our commitment to the welfare of workers in Adamawa State, I have approved the payment of a N70,000 minimum wage starting this August. Our civil servants deserve this and more. Together, we will continue to build a prosperous future for all.

Recently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reviewed the minimum wage for Nigerian workers, increasing the living wage from N30,000 to N70,000.

Following the approval given to the N70,000 minimum wage by the President, many state governments, especially northern states, have claimed their states may not be able to pay up to the minimum wage set by the federal government.
