The Caretaker Chairman of Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon. Promise Reginald on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 carried out an empowerment scheme in Eberi, the headquarters of the local government area, sharing bicycles, cars and other valuable items to the residents of the local council.
Hon. Reginald distributed equipment, vehicles, machines and bicycles, aiming they will be of assistance to the people of the local government area. Being a rural local government area, Hon. Reginald believed that the choice of his empowerment will boost food sufficiency and the local economy as a form of teaching them how to fish rather than giving them fish.
Hon. Reginald claimed that his approach aligns with the Rivers First agenda, championed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, aiming to uplift the people of Omuma.
