Duoye Diri
According to reports, the Bayelsa State government under the leadership of Governor Duoye Diri is set to purchase an aircraft worth N25 billion.
The development has generated mixed reactions as residents submitted different remarks. Some people said the aircraft deal was a waste of money, claiming the money would have been used to fix the gas turbine in the State while many others supported the government's decision to purchase the aircraft.
Samuel Kolawole Oredipe, the Director General, of new media to Bayelsa State Governor, in a statement on Facebook, said the aircraft is purely for commercial purposes, that it is an investment for the Bayelsa Airport, it is not for jamboree.

Speaking further, he said, "The aircraft to be purchased is to ensure regular flights and full operation of the Bayelsa International Airport!"
The Managing Director of Bayelsa International Airport, AVM Nelson Calmday (retd.) said, it is only one operator, The United Nigeria Airline, that makes two regular landings in Yenagoa weekly. Hence, it will be a good idea for the State to have its own Air Airline to increase service delivery.
