Many Nigerians have been put in a state of uncertainty as results emerge from the Bauchi State Local Government elections.
The Bauchi State Local Government elections are currently being conducted by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), and results are already coming out of the wards.
People were surprised that BSIEC claimed around 10,000 electorates had cast their votes in under 2 hours.
As of August 17th, 2024 11:30 am, a result of the councilorship election released by a BSIEC returning Officer, Dahiru Sabo, claimed that around 10,000 electorates have been successfully authenticated and cast their votes to determine who become the councilor of the Maji Dadi B Ward in Bauchi city of Bauchi Local Government Area of the State.
Dahiru Sabo, in a result officially signed by him stated that the African Democratic Party (ADP) scored 227 votes; the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 1,512; the Labour Party scored 315 votes, People's Democratic Party (PDP) scored 6,518 votes; People's Redemption Party (PRP) scored 336 votes while Social Democratic Party (SDP) scored 315 votes in an election where Aishatu Adamu of the PDP emerged as the Councilor-elect.
The amazing part of the election is that authentication and voting processes could not proceed until 8 am and with the results coming out of the wards by 11:30 am, it means around 10,000 electorates were successfully sorted, authenticated, and cast their votes without a report of void votes and electoral challenges.
This also trended:
Many people challenged the electoral umpire in Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to learn work from their sibling, BSIEC.
