Speaking at a book launch in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday, the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima disclosed so many revelations about his political boss, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
At the book launch, Shettima revealed he has only known a wristwatch with Tinubu, despite being strikingly rich.
He insisted his boss, Bola Tinubu, meant well for Nigeria and begged people to rally around him to have a better Nigeria.
The speech delivered by Vice President Shettima has been revolving around the Nigerian internet space since yesterday but it raises questions for those who might be concerned.
Vice President Kashim Shettima said: “In President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have a leader that we can invest our trust in. I’m not playing politics, I’m speaking from the heart. I have seen the soul of Bola Tinubu, and he has a good soul.
“He means well for the nation. He wants to live in a place of glory. He is not in power to engage in primitive capital accumulation. He is in power to leave landmarks in the sands of time. He is the most demonized politician in Nigeria.
“The first time I went to his house at Bourdillon, I was looking forward to seeing a mansion comparable to Buckingham Palace, with gardens, and swimming pools, but there was nothing special about that house. My house in Maiduguri is better than the house in Bourdillon.
“And at the formative stage of the APC, we held a meeting in his house. They served us a variety of meals but he opted to take garri with groundnut for lunch.
“Since I have known him, he has been using only one wristwatch, and in fact, I dress better than him. He doesn’t even care. He has overcome all those odds to dress well. So we need to rally around this poor man. He has taken some bold steps. The economy that we met was in a huge mess.”

One of the questions that Shettima's speech raised is the degrees of honesty in his claim and the speculated remark which was allegedly attributed to former President Muhammadu Buhari on his first visit to the same Tinubu's Bourdillon in Ikoyi, Lagos.
No doubt, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is wealthy and no amount of words can take that away from him.
However, at the formative stage of APC, Muhammadu Buhari was at Tinubu's Bourdillon and he was quoted to have been amazed by the presence of luxuries including garages of exotic cars, and architectural layouts of fantastic buildings.
Buhari was quoted to have been posed by the presence of luxuries he met at Tinubu's Bourdillon to the extent of asking a question on whether they were really at Tinubu's Bourdillon or an assembly of luxurious car dealers' stand.

Comparing and contrasting, both Kashim Shettima and Muhammadu Buhari were at almost the same time at the Ikoyi's Bourdillon house of Tinubu, now, we have two variants of narrations from them about the same subject, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
It could be understood that neither Shettima nor Buhari attempt to present Tinubu as "really" a poor man in need of anything money, or that money can buy but on the material level, it is relevant to determine who is telling us a half-truth between former President Muhammadu Buhari and incumbent Vice President Kashim Shettima?
