Edo APC Governorship Rally at a Senatorial District
Members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State have flagged off its senatorial district campaigns for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
Benin City, Edo State capital, was painted red today as supporters of the party trooped out in their numbers to grace the event.
The senatorial district campaigns flag which took place at the famous Ekehuan Campus of the University of Benin electrified the atmospheric conditions of the city.
The mammoth turnout of people at the venue of the campaign flag-off shows the ruling party in the state, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), may not be in a good position to win the forthcoming election.
Recall that the RoundTable had projected APC winning the forthcoming election citing various factors including the ability of the party to achieve a joint ticket of the two leading aspirants for the party's governorship ticket during the primary, Senator Monday Okpebholo who emerged as the governorship candidate, and Dennis Idahosa who was persuaded to accept the deputy governorship ticket of the party, mending the differences in the two major political camps in the state chapter of APC.
Besides, the inability of PDP to reconcile with the Deputy Governor of the State, Philip Shaibu which led him to defect to APC is another keen factor that will assist APC to defeat the ruling party in the next governorship election.

Actually, the intimidating turnout at today's rally might be a testament to the people's trust in the Edo State chapter of APC. The opposition may attempt to belittle the signal sent by the mammoth crowd present at the rally but if it is not addressed accordingly, the ballot may speak in the same voice as the crowd depicted today.
