There has been a tiny publication that is gaining entrance into the public reporting consideration of the embattled Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, who is considering resignation from his position as the Chief Security Officer of the State amidst the political crisis between him and his erstwhile political godfather, a former Governor of the State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Simply put, the news is false and far away from the truth tripling the distance between the land and the Sun. The fact is the crisis between Fubara and Wike has advanced beyond their individuals, it has gained the influence of other sophisticated factors that will rather let the weak one be destroyed with the hand of the stronger one instead of bowing out of the crisis unhurt.
What do I mean?
For what reasons does anyone think the Labour Party decided to regurgitate, suddenly turning to Fubara's kinsman, withdrawing its petition at the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, and jumping up and down like frog after the same man they could have eliminated a few months ago?
Simply put, it is because they have seen an opportunity to, through the back door, join the administration of navigating the affairs of Rivers State, and this can only be achieved while Fubara is the Executive Governor of the state.
Besides, who doesn't know the meaning of pulling the trigger against one's fatherly ally, and after the shit is released off the metals, you then decide to run away from the metals; No, at that point you gain more confidence to either eliminate or be eliminated.
If Fubara had wanted to resign, he would have done this before their disagreement got to the public domain, and if at all the public would know about their disagreement it would have been when he began to give reason for his resignation.
Most importantly, those people suggesting or fabricating the possibility of Siminalayi Fubara's resignation are not considering the ethnic background of the crisis.
It could be told to anyone that if Siminalayi Fubara resigns today, there will either be Ijaw-Ikwere ethnic unrest in Rivers State or Ijaw land will be declared a forbidden portion for Fubara to ever step his foot again.
Ijaw people have taken up the crisis as ethnical, and it is giving everything it has to secure the seat of Governor Fubara.
When you see people aligning with Governor Fubara and calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevail on Nyesom Wike, does anyone think the majority of those people are Fubara's longtime friends? They are his emergency friends who are either of slot 1 or 2 as mentioned above.
Interestingly, if Fubara's emergency allies could be calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevail on Nyesom Wike in fear of Fubara's possible impeachment by pro-Wike lawmakers, who among them will implore Fubara to resign or welcome his resignation idea?
Arguably, if Governor Fubara is to leave the Governorship seat of Rivers State, which is not very impossible, he is not going to resign or get impeached via court, he will surely be impeached by the Rivers State House of Assembly which the four lawmakers supporting him can never subvert.
