INC Rally Participants in Port Harcourt
The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has locked down the Rivers State capital city of Port Harcourt, holding a "solidarity rally" in favor of the embattled Governor of the State, Siminalayi Fubara.

Members of the INC, residents, and indigenes of Ijaw people are currently being led by the National President of the ethnic group, Prof. Benjamen Okaba.

The solidarity rally, with the participants matching towards the Rivers State Government House, is a show of support for the embattled Governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara, who is also an Ijaw son.

The solidarity rally is coming amidst a political imbroglio between the Governor of the State, Siminalayi Fubara, and his erstwhile political godfather, Nyesom Wike.

The crisis had degenerated into the defection of 26 lawmakers in the state House of Assembly from the ruling party in the state, People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling party in the center, All Progressives Congress (APC); this mass defection of the lawmakers has been followed by gale of resignations of some Commissioners from the Rivers State Executive Council.
