Unlike in previous years, the 8th edition of the show will commence in the middle of January, 2023. Recall that the BBNaija reality television show usually takes place in the middle of the year.
The Season 8 Edition of Big Brother Naija will commence tomorrow, January 15th, 2023; a date that has arose confusion in the minds of the people, who are regular viewers of the reality television show.
The Round Table took the question to the streets, we spoke with some viewers and they revealed varying perceptions regarding the change in the schedule of the reality television show, BBNaija.
Ifeoluwa, one of our respondents, stated that the organisers of the programme might have presumed that Bola Tinubu would stop the programme, if elected as president of Nigeria, very soon.
Julius Mariana was of the view that the organisers of the programme are yet to "learn from lockdown edition of the show where the winner only gets prize money, with no endorsement or popularity."
Segun was of the perception that the schedule of the eighth edition of the reality TV show, BBNaija, might be a plan to distract people from the 2023 general election bearing in mind that the show is popularly loved by the people. Although, Trust Edehi suggested that even if the schedule was politically motivated, other entertaining activities like European Club Leagues, English Premier League, Italian Serial A, La Liga and the general election would affect people who usually follow the programme.
Interestingly, shedding light on this strange edition of the reality TV show, is codenamed "BB Titans edition". It is discovered that BB Titans is a special edition that combines both BBNaija (Nigeria) and BBMzanzi (South Africa) and the prize would be $100,000. It is a special edition, although its timing remains questionable as it spans through the month that Nigerians would be going to polls to elect their new leaders.
