VP Shettima Halts U.S Trip In Fear of Air Crash
Kashim Shettima
Nigeria Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has halted his U.S.A tour and returned to Nigeria following the detection of a technical fault in his presidential aircraft.

The development had made the vice president abort his planned trip to the USA to attend the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas.

A statement released by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will now represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Summit in Dallas, Texas.

VP Shettima abandoned the U.S business summit “following a technical fault with his aircraft, forcing him to make a detour on the advice of the Presidential Air Fleet,” Nkwocha states.

Part of the Nkwocha's statement said: The high-profile summit, taking place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, will bring together political and business leaders from across Africa, the United States, and other regions.

Note:
With regards to the presidency, enthusiasm towards the safety of Vice President Shettima, his team, and other Nigerians, isn't this development a slap on the face of the hundreds of millions of Nigerians who are daily looking forward to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima with the belief of restoring the hope of common Nigerians.

One of the major challenges facing this country today is the depleted economic profile, and this could be addressed by attracting foreign investors into Nigeria to provide job opportunities, boosting the country's gross domestic product, and repositioning the productivity of the country as a nation.

Such investors could be attracted by this sort of business summit.

However, if the Vice President of Nigeria could return home from such a productive journey for the mere detection of a technical fault on his aircraft, what could it have cost Nigeria to have the vice president in a chatter jet if at all the vice presidency feels too big to use the First Class option of the commercial airlines flying Nigeria and America?

When will Nigerians in power resolve to subdue their ego to make sacrifices towards making the country the nation of our wishes?

Knowing fully well that investors are human and they won't feel satisfied entering deals with a minister in place of an already scheduled Vice President, what could it have done to the vice president if he put himself on a commercial flight pending the time his official aircraft is fixed, just to attend the summit and get the goal back to the country?
