Former American President Donald Trump was shot in the right ear at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
The shooting also left one person d£ad and at least one other severely injured.
Secret Service Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement that the suspected shooter, who officials confirmed is dead, fired multiple shots toward the stage at approximately 6:15 p.m. He said the shooter was in an elevated position outside the rally.
Trump reached for his ear as noises erupted. Attendees at the rally began screaming as agents pushed Trump to the ground.
The former president was removed from the site by Secret Service, with his fist raised. Steven Cheung, Trump's spokesperson, confirmed in a statement that the former president is "fine" but saw doctors at an area medical facility.

While former President Donald Trump is still speaking at his Pennsylvania rally, someone can be heard screaming “he’s got a gun.” We then hear someone scream “he’s on the roof, he’s got a gun.” Immediately after, the sound of gunshots begins. As the gunshots continue, a person continues to warn people “he’s on the roof, don’t go over there,” CNN claims.
A related story published by the ABC News revealed that "the FBI has identified the suspected gunman at Saturday's Trump rally as Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
The gunman opened fire with a rifle from the roof of a building about 200 to 300 yards away from the stage where Trump was speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania. A U.S. Secret Service counter-sniper team immediately killed the individual.
