Super Eagles Send Message To Nigerians After Benin-Loss

Nigerian senior national football team, Super Eagles, has sent an open message to all Nigerian football lovers amid criticism after their poor outing at Benin Republic.

Nigerian Super Eagles lost to Benin Republic by a 2-1 scoreline at the ongoing World Cup Qualifier match. This is the first time the Nigerian Super Eagles will be losing to their Benin Republic in any football competition.

Recall that Nigeria recently played a 1-1 draw with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa making the national team earn 3 points from four matches it has played so far in the World Cup Qualifier matches.

The poor performance of the Super Eagles has attracted negative remarks from Nigerians who have heavily blamed the head coach, Finidi George, for dashing the hope of Nigerian football lovers who are looking forward to watching the national team at the next World Cup tournament.

Calming people with the hope of doing everything to ensure they participate in the next World Cup tournament, Super Eagles wrote "We are back in the country and we are not happy about the way the two games panned out. We have had talks among ourselves and have resolved to fight hard till the end to ensure we do the impossible which is qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. We don’t take your support for granted, we thank you immensely."

Reacting to the message, some Nigerians insist Finidi must be sacked.
