President Tinubu Appoints Akinwunmi Ambode as Minister

One of the trending information on various Nigerian social media spaces is the news concerning purported appointment of the former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as Minister under the administration of his political boss, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is currently the President and Grand Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Although the Federal Government of Nigeria has not make the names of the presidential list of ministerial nominees public, it is in the news that the list is currently with the Department of State Services (DSS) for security screening of the nominees. While it is public that there has been different versions of the ministerial nominees' list flying around as speculation, many people bank on the recent State Honor organized by the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he visited Lagos State for Sallah holiday as a justification that Akinwunmi Ambode is being considered to be allotted with a ministerial position at the central.

Recall that, amazingly, the State Honor given to President Bola Tinubu's homecoming in Lagos was unexpectedly attended by all the former Governor of Lagos State since 1999, including Akinwunmi Ambode who was believed to be nursing grievances with his political boss, Bola Tinubu, for not allowing him a second term reelection as the Governor of Lagos State. The presence of Akinwunmi Ambode at the State Service signaled an end to the perceived political hostility between Ambode and his political boss, Bola Tinubu.

However, except for a last minute modification in the names of the ministerial nominees coming from Lagos State, a reliable source confirmed to the Round Table that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not penned down Akinwunmi Ambode for Ministerial position although he has decided to reactivate Ambode's political liveliness.

Our Source confirms that Senator Tokunbo Abiru, a banker, is being penned down from Lagos State and he may likely be posted to head Ministry of Finance while Akinwunmi Ambode is being considered to replace Senator Abiru in the National Assembly.

With the accuracy of our source, we can hold to the fact that former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode may likely be sent to the Senate representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the bid to reactivate his political career while Senator Abiru may be called out of the Senate to handle the Ministry of Finance under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Our source also confr=irm to us that the Lagos State former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will be meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Aso Rock, any moment from now where he will be briefed about the plans ahead to reactivate his political relevance.
