Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has insisted that his party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) lacks constitutional grounds to punish him for alleged anti-party activity that is insinuated about him.
Recall that Nyesom Wike, a member of the PDP is currently serving as a Minister of the Federal Capital Territory under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Following the recent disciplinary actions taken against Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) and about 84 members of the Osun State chapter of the APC who are loyalists of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola we're convinced of getting themselves involved in anti-party activities, some Nigerians have been calling on the PDP to discipline Nyesom Wike for accepting the ministerial nomination from Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In response, the former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike stated that the party lacks the right to take any disciplinary action against him.
Recall that recently, Nyesom Wike claimed that he wrote some authorities within the PDP to inform them of Tinubu's request to nominate him as a Minister which he said, none of the authorities opposed the offer.
Has Wike committed any offense to warrant his punishment?
If Wike is punished, what is the purpose of the National Unity Government?
