Aminat Yusuf Hosted by Oniba Ekun of Iba, Oba Adeshina Suleiman Okikiola Raji Ashade The traditional ruler of I a Kingdom, Oba Adeshina Suleiman Okikiola Raji Ashade, the Oniba Ẹkun of Iba Kingdom has hosted and gifted a sum of two million to the best ever graduating student from the Lagos State University (LASU), Aminat Yusuf.
Aminat Yusuf graduated from the Department of Law, University of Lagos and set record that has never been achieved by any graduate of the university since it was founded. Aminat graduated with 5.00 CGPA from the Department of Law, University. A performance that earned her respect from Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Celebrating her distinct performance, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said "In Lagos, we value hard work, dedication and excellence.
"Congratulations to Aminat Yusuf, a law student at Lagos State University (LASU), for achieving a remarkable feat, being the first undergraduate in 40 years to obtain a CGPA of 5.0. This is truly commendable! Your dedication and hard work have paid off.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also expressed his happiness with other graduates who performed excellently and the school produced 282 First Class students for the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions.
"I am also thrilled to hear about the outstanding academic achievements of 282 students who achieved first-class honors in the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 sessions," the Governor said.
The Round Table early reported that "So far, the Department of Law, Lagos Nigeria University has not produced any graduate with such outstanding performance of a 5.00 CGPA. Aminat Yusuf broke the record by graduating with a 5.00. She is now the first LASU law student to have graduated with a 5.00 CGPA.
