The Central Bank of Nigeria has dissolved the Boards and Management Teams of about four new-generation banks in Nigeria.
The affected banks include Titan Trust Bank, Union Bank, Keystone Bank, and Polaris Bank.
The apex bank in Nigeria took this decision after a meeting between the Governor of the CBN, Yemi Cardoso, and Jim Obazee, the special Investigator employed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to audit the activities and operations of the apex bank under the administration of Godwin Emefiele as the bank's Governor.
Details behind the decision taken by the CBN have not been unveiled but The Round Table understands that the affected banks might have been involved in a financial scandal, most especially, the corruption tied to the multiple exchange rate under Emefiele's tenure as CBN Governor.
