Obaseki Reveals His Preference for Edo Governorship Seat
Godwin Obaseki
The Executive Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has revealed who should be supported to become the next Governor of the state as Eso State prepares for the 2024 Governorship Election.

Speaking during the New Year statewide broadcast in Benin City, Edo State capital, Governor Obaseki admonished electorates in Edo State to elect someone ready to make sacrifices for the good people of Edo State during the 2024 Governorship Election in the state.

Recall that Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor to Governor Obaseki is also in the race to succeed his boss, although Obaseki is not in his support for a reason that has not been disclosed for public understanding.

He said, “2024 is another election year in the state; we must be deliberate in making our choices during the polls in support of the progress we have so far recorded.

“We should seek a governor who is ready to sacrifice for the common good of Edo and Nigeria, and persons who have the skills, knowledge, and experience to formulate and implement good policies that will move Edo forward.”

He, however, tells the governorship aspirants across political parties to be diligent, and calm and do away from political activities that may throw the state into chaotic moments during the electioneering campaign for the 2024 Governorship Election in Edo State.

Godwin Obaseki said, “The presidential elections tested the foundations of our democracy, while the very difficult and precarious economic situation tested our resilience as a people."

“Despite these challenges, which we have had to endure, we are glad that Edo State continues to make progress in our journey towards a better society,” he said.
