Muslim Faithful in Yobe Take Protest to God Over Economic Hardships in Nigeria
Muslims praying for economic relief in Yobe
A crowd of Muslim Faithful residing in Potaskum, Yobe State, have turned to God, praying for quick ease of the economic hardships currently facing Nigeria.

Recall that The Round Table recently reported that some citizens of Nigeria who could no longer bear the economic hardships facing the country have resorted to taking their feeling to the streets in protests that have been witnessed in Minna, Niger State capital; Lokoja, Kogi State capital, Kano, Kano State capital, Osogbo, Osun State capital and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

However, the residents of Potaskum, a 100 percent Muslim-populated community in Yobe State, took their protest to God in prayer, asking for his intervention to restore the season of bounty to the country.

Islamic religion worshipers in Potaskum were sighted observing special prayer sessions in an open prayer ground, begging God to restore the hope of Nigeria as economic hardships bite harder.

The economic hardships facing Nigeria have been perennial but took a severe dimension recently after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the complete removal of oil subsidies and floatation of the naira against the dollar.

The decision has led to the naira, dastardly falling against the U.S. dollar causing a hike in the cost of importation of goods with consequential soaring in prices of food items and essential commodities in the local market.

With additional negative inputs from the market speculators and alleged economic sabotage by political opponents, life has been very difficult for citizens to survive as inflation battles with the country's staggering economy.
