Just In: Emeka Ihedioha Dumps PDP, Gives Reasons

Former Governor of Imo State and four times member of the House of Representatives representing
Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency of It mo State, Emeka Ihedioha has resigned his membership in the main opposition party in the country, the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Ihedioha disclosed this today in a letter officially addressed to the Ward Party Chairman of his Mbutu ward, Aboh Mbalse Local Government Area of Imo State.

He cited the PDP's loss of purpose and failure to provide active opposition to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) as his reasons for dumping the party.

Ihedioha was first elected to the House of Representatives under the umbrella of PDP in 2003. He became the House Chief Whip in 2007 and Deputy Speaker of the House between 2011 and 2015.
