The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr. Samuel Nwanosike, has regretted his action toward Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the state during his face-off with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Recall that the major political stakeholders in Rivers State are divided mainly along the political lines of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the incumbent Governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara.
Dr. Nwanosike who aligned with former Governor Wike during the political imbroglio, regretted his ordeal during the political impasse, and tendered a public apology to the Governor of the State, Fubara, for attacking him at the trying time.
Remarkably, during the Rivers State political impasse, the Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Dr. Nwanosike, while attacking Governor Fubara called him a "mumu and foolish person". He repeated the attack on Governor Fubara several times at Umerelu and elsewhere within the Ikwerre Local Government area.
Dr. Nwanosike, while regretting his action during the political impasse, said "That my leader called me to order after my outburst in my last rally at Umerelu called me to order by saying it is wrong for you to speak to a governor in that manner whether he is 18 years old.
"I want to tender an unreserved apology to the people of Nigeria for speaking in that manner, and to say clearly that I regret that action and it was made by (in) anger."
