The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Sule Abdullahi, has flagged off the distribution of cash and food items to indigent residents of the state.

The program is necessitated by the government's thirst to cushion the effect of the scarcity of food and other essential commodities in the market which has caused hardships on the citizens a Ross the federation.

A statement released by the Nasarawa State Government claimed that the Governor distributed rice and cash gifts of five (5,000) thousand naira to Indigent persons across the state as part of his administration’s measure aimed at reducing the harsh economic realities confronting Nigerians.

"The Governor flagged off the distribution with 1,600 bags of rice in the Azara development area of Awe LGA where beneficiaries were drawn from the four (4) electoral wards namely; Akiri, Azara, Ribi, and Wuse.

A few days ago, Governor Sule was also in the news for distributing N7,000 conditional cash transfers covering two months to some vulnerable residents of the state.
