In May, the federal government appointed nine PIAs and two monitoring and evaluation agents (MEAs) for crude oil and gas exports.

In a new circular signed by W. J. Kanya, acting director of the trade and exchange department of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), dated September 17, 2024, the apex bank announced the allocation of additional terminals to three PIAs.

“This is to notify all authorised dealers, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, all terminal operators, all oil and gas companies and the general public of the Federal Government’s allocation of additional terminals to the underlisted pre-shipment inspection agents and monitoring and evaluation agents for oil and gas export in Nigeria,” the apex bank said.

CBN said the government allocated the Nembe terminal to Neroli Technologies Limited, the Belema terminal to Candid Oil Services Limited, and the Ukpokiti and Utapate terminals to Jbis Integrated Resources.

Kanya instructed all relevant stakeholders to note the allocations and ensure compliance.
