Photo Credit: The Nation Convener of the human rights group, Concerned Nigeria, and member of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Comrade Deji Adeyanju has restated the political position that befits the former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in the February 2023 election.
Kwankwaso, who is contesting for the presidential seat of Nigeria under the platform of New Nigeria's Peoples Party (NNPP), is suggested to have run as presidential running mate with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi. This suggestion was made by Deji Adeyanju with the hope that such a ticket would have given both the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), serious opposition from the supposed third force that their collation might have formed.
Comrade Adeyanji believed that Kwankwaso is tired of the low turnout his presidential campaign is achieving across the country.
In his word, Comrade Deko said "Kwankwaso is not even pretending to be running for president again. Someone that should have deputized Obi since to give the ticket solid hope. My guy is tired!
It could be recalled that Kwankwaso had early rejected a bid from the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi from forming a merger between the NNPP and Labour Party.
The cause of the failure of the merger was attributed to the failure to agree on who to become the presidential candidate and the running mate between Kwankwaso and Obi.
