Crisis Looms as Gov Adeleke Relegates Aregbesola
Rauf Aregbesola and Ademola Adeleke
The political relationships between Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and the immediate former Minister of Interior and ex-Governor of the state may be short-lived as the former has foreseen a total abolition of the legacy policies of the latter in the state.

Recall that former Governor Rauf Aregbesola deployed the power of his ministerial Office to work against the second term reelection of ex-Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola who was the candidate of Aregbesola's political party, All Progressives Congress (APC), in the July 16, 2022 governorship election.

Rauf Aregbesola, who worked against his party, APC and Gboyega Oyetola supported Ademola Adeleke and technically gave him a federal backup, security-wise even though he was still a Minister under APC led Federal Government, then.

Unfortunately, during the inauguration of Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State on Nov 27th, 2022 he read an executive order that reversed some of the legacies of Aregbesola in the state.

Although some of the followers of Aregbesola claimed that the Executive Order read by Governor Ademola was a mere one, such a matter could not be settled without the approval of the State House of Assembly.

Today, the House of Assembly under the Speakership of Rt. Hon. Adewale Egberun passed into law, a bill that completely eradicate the so-called Aregbesola's legacies in Osun State.

Amongst the abolished legacies are changing the name of the state from Aregbesola's "State of Osun" to "Osun State"; eradication of the use of the State Flag and Coat of Arm designed by Aregbesola; abolition of the Osun State Anthem composed by the Aregbesola's administration.

Father of all was the change of the State's motto from "Land of Virtue" as willed by Aregbesola to "State of the Living Spring".
