The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, and his erstwhile political godfather, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, are in a cold political war, The Round Table could verify.
The infighting between Governor Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Bello has fatally affected the relationship between the two political leaders in Kogi State.
The Round Table learned that two major issues are recently topping the cause of uproars between Governor Ododo and his erstwhile political godfather, Yahaya Bello.
Among the causes of the political disagreements between Governor Ododo and his erstwhile political godfather, Yahaya Bello, is the retrenchment of about 1,500 workers recruited into the Kogi State civil service by the immediate former Governor Yahaya Bello by the administration of Governor Ododo.
Former Governor Yahaya Bello was said to be unpleasant with the decision taken by Governor Ododo on the recruited civil servants.
Likewise, Governor Ododo was said to have suspended a local government chairman in Kogi, a decision which was said to be against the wish of the former Governor of the state.
Our source claimed that the Local Government chairman was suspended by Governor Ododo for allegedly diverting palliative rice handed over to him for the people of his local government area.
Former Governor Yahaya Bello was said to be unsatisfied with these developments, and the State Governor Ododo resolved not to reverse the decision.
