Liverpool Football Club was at Anfield Stadium yesterday, playing a wonderful football against old-age football rival, Chelsea Football Club who traveled from London to receive bearing of the tournament as reported by the Blue's social media handler.
The much-anticipated match came alive yesterday and ended with four goals for Liverpool and a lone goal from the visitor, Chelsea FC.
Five players scored five goals in the
match. The scorers include Jota 23', Bradley 39', Szoboszlai 65' and Díaz 79' who all scored for Liverpool while Nkunku's 71' goal erased Chelsea's zero at the Anfield Stadium, yesterday.
The result of the match has, however, left supporters of Chelsea Football Club spewing divergent opinions on how the match was decided, the reason for their loss, and fate in the English Premier League.
Many Chelsea fans blamed the defeat on poor officiating by the English Premier League officials, causing fans [probably, Africans] to encourage EPL officials to summon courage and learn from the superb officiating skills, distinct, accuracy, and performances of the football officials currently handling the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). This set of fans greatly attributed Chelsea's loss at Anfield Stadium to poor officiating by EPL officials.
However, some of the supporters of Chelsea FC did not fault the EPL officials for bad officiating, they rather identified Chelsea players who were unfit to represent the club. They named some players and suggested their weaknesses.
Amazingly, some Chelsea fans attributed the club's defeat at Anfield to the inexperience of the Club's coach, Mauricio Pochettino, who they accused of lacking wisdom in reading the game and making effective decisions in putting up his squad. He was accused of enlisting wobble players to face the EPL trophy expectant, Liverpool FC, and still failed to make corrections.
Some of the reactions from supporters of Chelsea FC, reacting to the Club's loss to Liverpool FC at the Anfield Stadium yesterday, Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 are lifted and listed below:
Opeyemi Wasiu: "Premier league officials should start learning from CAF officials, they are disg*sting"
Kapansa Boyd Akapuuku: "I used to think Chelsea was Finished but I was wrong they are completely finished 😅"
Cixqo: "I have nothing more to say, everyone at Chelsea is just there for cash out, especially Pochettino…
Well Chelsea back to default se10ings"
Eugene Osei-Tutu: "This defender doesn’t deserve the Chelsea shirt. He easily loses focus and looks unprepared for the game. Very shambolic"
Famous Ulo-Ante: "Chelsea lost the match right from the lineup
The coach is becoming something else
Poor coach with poor decisions
Fidely Jay: I know we didn’t play well, but on the other hand… the ref was against us 😡"
Blessings Banda: "#BringBack Mourinho, a manager with a winning mentality. Pochettino mentality can't elevate these young players."
Amarachi Sunday: "Mtcheeew. We played against 12 men"
Enoch Kofi: "Clearly an indication of a below-average coach who can't even analyze his own games and vary his tactics. But this poor officiating from the referee and his VAR team gives him room for escape and a justification tool for his incompetence and cluelessness. Pure robbery. They are not called LiVARpool for nothing."
Ray Poboto: "The referee and his supporting team gave Liverpool the points. We have lost yes, but it could have been different. Badiashile looks out of place. That guy is the worst defender to have don the Chelsea Football Club jersey. Good luck over the weekend."
