Yesterday, December 25, 2023, being Christmas Day, The Round Table reported Osun State's immediate past Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, paid homage to one of his predecessors, former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola at his country home in Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the state.
The visit was purely to emphasize the purpose of celebrating Christmas worldwide, a moment when people shared love and harmony with the spirit of remembering the birth of Jesus Christ.
The visitation which lasted hour 2as purely apolitical, as local drummers displayed their talents to welcome the former Governor, Oyetola, to the residence of his predecessor, Oyinlola, the domestic staff members of Prince Oyinlola were unsettled as the visitation met them, almost, unaware.
People wonder why Oyinlola, a prominent member of People's Democratic Party (PDP), who worked assiduously against Isiaka Oyetola's All Progressives Congress (APC) during his 2022 Governorship election, even though Oyinlola was harassed and allegedly slapped by hoodlums who were said to be loyalled to the Ademola Adeleke's faction of the Osun State PDP before the governorship election.
Besides, Prince Oyinlola also worked tirelessly against APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last presidential election, so the wonders in the minds of the people of Osun State, and the followers of Osun politics became complex on the choice of Oyinlola.
Less than a minute after the news escaped to the public domain, more and more people, mostly dignitaries rushed into Prince Oyinlola's private residence, while social media became disquiet.
Among them, some came to do eye service, many came to share the lovely moment between the two great men, you easily read it in their sitting alliance and postures.
On social media platforms, the loyalists of Osun State former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and those of the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke became untamable, restive and uncontrollably gassing out synonymous words as if they sit within a corner of blocks.
"No amount of visitation will bring Oyetola back", and "What is even the value of Oyinlola in Osun politics", these and among others are the best ways to summarize how loyalists of Aregbesola and Adeleke vibrated while Oyinlola and Oyetola enjoyed their life sharing Christmas day in peace and harmony in Okuku, the headquarters of Odo-Otin Local Government Area.
However, you could be surprised why the vibrations are unnecessary and the visitation has no alternative.
Who else do you think Oyetola would have visited to share the love on Christmas Day? Chief Adebisi Akande? Rauf Aregbesola? or Ademola Adeleke?
Since 1999, arguably, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola is the only [genuine] CHRISTIAN who governs Osun State without telling lies about his religion, and he is the only one officially and generally understood as former/present Governor of Osun State who is a Christian.
Let's mind ourselves, Christians celebrate Christmas and it would have been wrong and widely criticized if Oyetola had chosen to visit Chief Bisi Akande or Rauf Aregbesola, who are both Muslims, in the spirit of celebrating 2023 Christmas Day.
Unfortunately, the present Governor Ademola Adeleke is either a Chist-Lam (Christian in the night, Muslim in the days) or you leave him to choose and defend his faith before his God.
Recall that in his name alone, he bears Nurudeen, a Muslim name, and Jackson, a Christian name. If his fear of declaring his religion is for political deception, it is ultimately important no one should be dragged for not recognizing a particular religion with him. If you see him in the mosque during the day, and church at night, Christ-Lam is his religion and he has the rights.
Since 1999, Osun State had five Governors, three of them are purely unmasked Muslims, only Olagunsoye Oyinlola is an unmasked Christian and if any of the three Muslims would want to pay Christmas homage to any of the men who has/is ruled/ruling the state, nobody else except Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola would come to mind, and so Oyetola spent his day with the right man in his caliber, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
