Middle Eastern country, Afghanistan has been battling with the war over the past two decades, however, it came out of war and got its developmental template on the run.
Afghanistan war started in 2001 after the September 11, 2001 attack, known popularly as 9/11 against the United States of America. The war cost lives and destabilized academic, economic, and social activities for a good 20 (twenty) years.
In 2021, the war was settled and normalcy returned to Afghanistan under the Taliban government, although still not accepted by some Western countries. However, Afghanistan within the spate of three years has done what many countries that have enjoyed peace over the past five decades.
Within three years of coming out of war, Afghanistan produced its sports car, the Mada 9l9 Super Car.
Madam 9 was designed and created by a 30-man team of engineers under the Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI).
Mada 9 comes from a war-torn and dirt-poor country whose ruling militia is best known for using Toyota pick-ups and SUVs for its personnel to drive around the country’s rugged terrain. Even last year, when the Taliban were regaining control over Afghanistan, Toyota vehicles were their warhorses, not expensive and sophisticated military vehicles.
During the war, Talibans used Toyota vehicles to move its personnel and never spent money on expensive war vehicles. The Taliban's love for Toyota was said to have been influenced by its low maintenance cost, stability, and ruggedness.
This has influenced the Taliban to embed its Mada 9 new car with a four-cylinder engine, the same one that powers Corolla, one of the Japanese carmaker’s most popular models.
However, there is an improvement in the Mada 9 when compared to the Toyota engine.
“If you increase the speed, it's powerful enough to take it,” Ghulam Haidar Shahamat, the head of Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI), told Afghanistan’s TOLO News at the time of the launch. Entop collaborated with ATVI to produce Mada 9.
