Bola Tinubu with Peter Obi Nigeria's president-elect, Bola Tinubu has extended his magnanimity to the second runner-up, Mr. Peter Obi, in the most keenly contested presidential election that he won on February 25th, 2023.
Bola Tinubu defeated his long-time friend and political opponent, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was the first runner-up in the presidential election. Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi who emerged as the second runner-up has been restive about the result of the election.
Mr. Bola Tinubu and his inauguration committee have lived beyond the intimidation their camp has been receiving from the opposite ends, this was justified when the team extended their invitation letter to Mr. Peter Obi who could be described as the most controversial presidential candidate in the last election.
Followers of Mr. Peter Obi and his running mate in the February 25th election, Datti Baba-Ahmed have been alleged of promoting defamatory courses against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, before and after he was declared as the president-elect.
Invite sent to Mr. Peter Obi
Despite allegations of calls for a coup and a series of attempts to stop the inauguration of Bola Tinubu as the president on May 29 by the followers of Mr. Peter Obi, the committee organizing the inauguration program has invited Mr. Peter Gregory Obi to the event. This must have shown the deepness of the government we may expect from Tinubu and this will serve as a big test for Peter Obi to know whether he has Nigeria at heart or not.
