AIG Hakeem Odumosu President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly approved the appointment of Rtd Assistant Inspector General of Police Hakeem Odumosu as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The approval of AIG Odumosu as EFCC Chairman is however subject to his confirmation by the Senate.
Our source revealed that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, approved the appointment of Odumosu as a replacement for the suspended former Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Abdulrasheed Bawa, before leaving for France where he is expected to attend a Financial Summit.
Recall that Mr. Bawa was recently suspended by the presidency with the claim that his suspension was to allow proper investigation into his conduct while in office following "weighty allegations" of abuse of office leveled against him.
AIG Odumosu was a former Commissioner of Police, at Lagos State. AIG Odumosu retired from active service as Lagos State Commissioner in January 2022.
