Two Russian women were injured late Thursday when a warplane owned by the Russian Army accidentally dropped an "abnormal descent of aviation ammunition" in the border city of Belgorod, Russian state media reports.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, revealed that a Su-34 supersonic bomber was flying over Belgorod city when an "emergency ejection of an air ordnance occurred," which resulted into blast that toppled power lines, damaged several parks, and left a crater with a radius of 20 meters in the ground, State media outlet, RIA Novosti reported. Belgorod is about 45 miles north of Kharkiv, a bordering city between Ukraine and Russia.
Governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel that one woman was hospitalized with head trauma, while another woman was said to have sustained skin abrasions but refused to be hospitalized.
Russian military have consistently launched attacks on the Ukrainian eastern region from the Belgorod's region of the country.
