Naira Marley The House of Representatives wing of the National Assembly has summoned the leader of the Marlian Record Label, songwriter and singer, Azeez Fashola who is popularly known as Naira Marley to appear before it on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Naira Marley has been kept in Police custody for almost 30 days after he turned himself in at the Police Station after he was accused of having hands in the sudden death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba who was popularly known as Mohbad during his lifetime.
Music lovers and some fans of Mohbad had taken online, their agitation demanding Naira Marley’s probe following allegations that he had hands in the sudden death of Mohbad.
The House of Representatives resolved to drill Naira Marley about the death of Mohbad after Honorable Babajimi Benson representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Lagos State moved a motion to the course on Thursday, and the motion was adopted by the House.
The House of Representatives also extended their invitation to the manager of Mohbad, Jiggy Adeoye. The duo of Naira Markey and Jiggy Adeoye will meet with the House Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance on Tuesday, October 31.
Honorable Benson also called for a review of the laws guiding the entertainment industry and copyright laws. He also moved a motion that the contracts and agreements that bind entertainers need to be reviewed.
