Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State has welcomed the new Commander, Joint Task force, South-South of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Egunio Olusegun Ferreira to the region.
Governor Diri asked Rear Admiral Olusegun to emulate the practice of his immediate predecessor, Rear Admiral Hassan who the Governor described as a civilian in military uniform due to his gentleness and humility in addressing issues.
Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State speaking when he officially received the new Commander, Joint Task force, South-South of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Egunio Olusegun Ferreira in Government House, Yenagoa said "First, let me on behalf of the government and good people of Bayelsa State, officially welcome you.
"You have taken over from a fine gentle officer in the person of Rear Admiral Hassan, who beyond his military calling, related perfectly with the government and with every other person, and meeting you for the first time, I have no doubt that you can actually step into the shoes of Rear Admiral Hassan. I think the government of the state will have another person to work with to ensure that the security of lives and property in this state will continue in good faith, particularly, the security of oil and gas installations.
"More importantly today, is that we are opening our two arms in welcoming you, and we believe that you will work in synergy with the government and people of Bayelsa State. We are sure that a lot of these challenges that are facing us as a State and as a country will be surmounted. Be rest assured of our very cordial working relationship."
