Mohbad The coroner inquest set up to investigate the sudden death of Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad in the music industry has finally concluded its activities.
Recall that on September 12th, 2023, Nigerian musician MohBad died in Lagos, at the age of 27. The nurse who administered a Tetanus vaccine to him was arrested and found to be an unlicensed nurse on 19 September 2023 by the Lagos State Police Command.
According to the police interim report, the management of an injury inflicted on the late Mohbad during a fight with his childhood friend, Prime Boy, was also identified during the investigation of his death.
The Lagos State Police Command, during the peak of the death news, vowed it would not do guesswork in the investigation of the death of singer Mohbad.
Families of Mohbad, his erstwhile boss in the music industry, Naira Marley; Mohbad's childhood friend, Prime Boy; his wife, among others have been invited by the coroner inquest headed by the Lagos State Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi.
The inquest has closed the hearing, no report has been released, and the Police have already washed their hands off the case stating it will not go beyond the preliminary report released by the force, a few weeks after the death of the popular musician. This is because it would amount to insubordination for the Police to keep speaking about a matter in the court of competent jurisdiction.
Most, unfortunately, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos recently revealed to a radio station in a live interview that the autopsy of Mohbad sponsored by the state government is still ongoing in the United States of America and the results will be ready by the middle of next month.
Pathetically, the family of a sitting state Governor in the Southwest, not Lagos, is being allegedly fingered in distracting the coronal inquest, aiming to cover a suspicion against a member of the Governor's family.
Presently, the hope of getting a report on how Mohbad died, suspiciously, lies in the hands of the government even though many people are giving up as they believe that powerful people might have suppressed the findings, and buried the case amidst heavy suspicion.
