Rivers State Assembly Complex A case filed by the factional speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Ehie Edison, has been struck out by the Rivers State High Court, today.
Ehie had filed a case before the State High Court to challenge the sitting of the 25 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who are loyal to the former Governor of the state and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, whose seat has been declared vacant following their defections from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The court struck out the case after Ehie Edison who had resigned as both speaker and member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, informed his lawyer to write the court about their intention to discontinue the litigation.
Edison might have decided to discontinue the litigation with respect to the resolutions reached by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the political stakeholders in Rivers State which include Chairmen of APC and PDP in the state.
