A thunderstorm has claimed the lives of three students, affecting many others as many electronics were destroyed by the natural disaster.
On Saturday, November 4, the people of Awka, Anambra State capital received heavy downpours accompanied by heavy thunderstorms which later happened to have left some families in panic.
"The heavy thunderstorms were heard across Awka and its environment, although no one knew it would be this deadly," a resident told the Round Table.
The thunderstorms were said to have hit 9 students of the Tansi International College, Awka. Unfortunately, three of the victims of the thunderstorms have died while others are currently in the hospital, receiving treatment.
A resident revealed that many electronics were also affected by the thunderstorms.
Talking about ways to avert the worst experience that usually follows thunderstorms, it was stated that people should stay away from playing with metallic objects or washing clothes with soap when it is raining. Also, using of phone or placing it in contact with our body when it is raining.
