Manchester City's head coach, Pep Guardiola has stated that the season is still long for anyone to decide who is going to win the 2023/2024 English Premier League. He said this when reacting to his late 1-0 club side's defeat to the London side, Arsenal Football Club.
Arsenal scored a late winning goal to defeat Manchester City, at the Emirates Stadium. This is the first time Arsenal would be defeating Manchester City since 2015.
Reacting to the defeat, Pep Guardiola stated that the season is still long and that his club is still hopeful of lifting the English Premier League.
Pep Guardiola also bragged he would do better to defeat his next opponents, including games against Brighton and Manchester United.
He recalled that Arsenal's lead should not be seen as a distraction as it also happened last season and his club side, Manchester City later staged a comeback to lift the trophy.
Guardiola stated "We are behind but it is October. Last season it happened but the season is long. We have people coming back and we will try to beat upcoming opponents like Brighton and United. We will continue.
Manchester City is now third on the English Premier League Table after the loss. Tottenham, with 10 goals, and Arsenal with 10 goals are the first and second on the table with 20 points each. Manchester City has 18 points with 11 goals.
