The insurgent leader also handed over two AK-47 rifles to the military, signaling his willingness to renounce violence.
This was contained in a revelation by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on his official X handle on Monday.
According to Makama, security sources described the surrender as the major step toward weakening terrorist networks in the state.
In addition to the voluntary surrender, troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA successfully repelled an attempted terrorist attack in Unguwan Baki village, Faskari Local Government Area.
The insurgents, overwhelmed by superior firepower, fled into the forest, abandoning their motorcycles.
