iPhone Two guys have run into trouble facing about 20 years jail term as they attempted to scam Apple of about $3 million worth of iPhones.
The suspected criminals, Haotian Sun and Pengfei Xue, both Chinese, were caught in Maryland, United States of America, in the process of doing Apple incorporation products worth $3 million.
Sun and Xue were accused of acquiring about 5,000 pieces of fake iPhone products produced in China. After the acquisition, knowing fully well that the phones were fake, they complained to Apple that the products they got from the company were knockoffs, hence repair operation was needed.
They then contacted Apple's repair shops claiming the iPhone's products are real, hence Apple needs to fix the faulty phones for them.
According to the tradition and policy guiding the tẹ h operation, faulty 6 from Apple are replaced if found to be originally released by the company.
To perfect the scheme, Sun and Xue, fake their identities including the names and serial numbers of the fake iPhone products.
In the end, the duo have been successful in pulling off a huge sum of $3 million scam from Apple.
They are currently behind bars awaiting their fate as the presiding judge, Timothy J. Kelly set their sentencing for June 21, 2024.
If convicted, and more likely to be, Sun and Xue will serve at the federal correctional center for nothing less than 20 years.
Our source stated, "Haotian Sun and Pengfei Xue got their hands on fake iPhones from Hong Kong. Then, they sent about 5,000 of these knockoff phones to Apple and some repair shops, pretending they were real and needed fixing.
"To cover their tracks, they faked serial numbers and used fake names to stay under the radar. All in all, they managed to pull off a whopping $3 million scam.
"Now, they're awaiting their fate. The judge, Timothy J. Kelly, has set their sentencing for June 21.
