President Tinubu Invites State Governors To End Food Scarcity Amidst Building Protests
Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has unveiled plans to cushion the economic hardships hitting the country as food scarcity takes center stage.

Recall that some residents in the country have taken to the streets to protest the hike in food prices, and economic hardships hitting the country.

The Round Table reported that traders in Kogi State staged a protest on the streets of Lokoja, the state capital, sending a message of economic hardships to the president as food prices hit the roof.

Market women in Minna capital city of Niger State also staged a protest on the same cause last week before they were joined by men to frustrate free flow of traffic in the state capital city.

There is also a report of building protests by some frustrated residents in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

To curb the food scarcity in the country, President Tinubu has through the Ministry of Agriculture rolled out a program to ensure agricultural activities remain alive across the seasons in Nigeria.

The program is intended to engage state governments to encourage all-season farming in their respective States across the country.

A statement released by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture read, "The Federal Government through the Hon Minister of Agriculture, yesterday shared letters of expression with some state governors to participate in the proposed all-season farming as part of the agenda of President Tinubu to ensure food security become a norm in Nigeria.

"The state governors of Kogi, Ondo, Kwara, and Taraba states were among the first phase of governors to be engaged as the Ministry wraps up its plans to absorb all the 36 states across the country.
