The Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a suspect in connection with a recent attack on a household in Makurdi where a woman and her adopted daughter were murdered in their cold blood.
A source disclosed to The Round Table that a suspect, Jemilu Sule, a Mairuwa (Jerry Can Water Seller), residing in Makurdi, Benue State capital was arrested by the police today Thursday, February 1, 2024.
He was said to have been linked to the attack on the deceased household banking on reliable information left behind before the maimed mother gave up to ghost after she was attacked.
Those versatile with the incident revealed to The Round Table that, about two weeks ago, Jemilu allegedly gained entrance into the house of Mrs. Esther Amali, for a sinister motive, around 4:30 pm.
When he discovered that the woman's adopted daughter, Mercy Iveren Wuese, saw him, he attacked the lady and stabbed her to death in the kitchen where she had been preparing food she wanted to serve her adopted mother, Mrs. Amali.
On hearing the voice of Mercy in agony, Mrs. Amali approached the kitchen to check on her. She saw Jemilu, who later turned back to attack Mrs. Amalia, probably in a bid to cover his atrocities.
Jemilu allegedly stabbed Mrs. Amalia severely with his daga [sword] on each section of the chest, the lower abdomen, and the palm before he escaped and jumped through the fence.
Although, he thought Mrs. Amalia had died on the spot she lived to raise the alarm, and revealed the Identity of Jemilu as she continuously shouted his name with his description while she battled in agony of the stirring death.
Jemilu was arrested early today while pushing his wheelbarrow which he used to sell water in Jerry cans to households in Makurdi.
