A teacher with the Silverbird International School, Agip, Rumueme, Mile 4 in Rivers State has been beaten up blue and black by a gang mobilized by parents of one of the school's students.
The victimized private school teacher was accused of flogging a Junior Secondary School student of the school, unjustifiably.
The parents who felt dissatisfied with the teacher's action mobilized immediate members of the family to beat up the accused teacher.
The gang that beat the teacher was said to have included the mother father and three brothers of the JSS 1 student.
People have suggested strict action against the parents while calling on the state government to blacklist the student from getting admitted to any secondary school in the state.
The cases of parents ganging up to beat up teachers who decided to punish their students have been on the increase and this has led to moral decadence due to a lack of discipline across the school.
Many people are calling on the government at all levels to come up with policies that will permanently protect teachers from such assault from students, parents, and their relatives.
How do you think the government can go about this to ensure the security of life and property of the teachers across the nation, regarding teachers working with both public and private schools?
