President Bola Tinubu meets G-5 Team
The defunct aggrieved five governors (many are now former governors) who formed an umbrella body popularly known as the G-5 team under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have met with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Aso Villa, Abuja.

The reason for their meeting has been raising concerns among citizens because the G-5 team does not belong to the same political party as the President.

However, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has revealed the reason they met with the President.

Although many people were speculating whether the five leaders of the opposition party, PDP would be cross carpeting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the revelation unveiled by Governor Makinde is not pointing towards the assertion.

Revealing the purpose of their meeting with President Tinubu, Oyo State State Governor Makinde stated that they will keep meeting with the President, and their purpose of meeting with the president is only related to national development.

“Nation building is a very difficult task. You have to keep evaluating, you know what you’re doing, where you’re going. So, we have to keep seeing the President, you know, to let him know what is happening. The G-5, the Integrity Group, came to let the President know that we stood for fairness, justice, and equity,” Seyi Makinde disclosed while addressing State House correspondents after the closed-door meeting.

The G-5 team comprises Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Rivers State former Governor Nyesom Wike, Abia State former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Enugu State former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Benue State former Governor Samuel Ortom.
