The lifeless body of a strange man has been discovered on the bed of a yet-to-be-identified Ashawo lady in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
The remain of the unidentified man was found naked on a bed at a Popular Ashawo quarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The popular Ashawo quarter is located on the new road leading to Igbogene off Tombia/ Amassoma Road, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
It is a tradition in all states across Nigeria, there are some mapped-out areas in the major cities which are predominantly occupied by the Ashawo, a local name for sx workers.
Men who are interested in having fun with them, normally on short service, would go to the mapped-out area, run deals with them, and have fun within the premises.
In some Ashawo quarters, each of the Ashawo has a room, usually small, with a bed where she satisfies her clients.
However, this sector of the entertainment industry as it could best be categorized is informal and no record of the male client is taken by the Ashawo.
The Ashawo in many instances operates independently with no control coming from any source while many operate in the squad with a big madam, who usually happens to be their role model, as their Ring leader.

Don't you think it high time the government mandates the Ashawo quarters to come up with a register or even have themselves registered with the government and keep reporting their day-to-day activities, including the identities of their clients to forestall this kind of scenario where a client pass away with no trace of his originating address and lint to his relatives?
