Lagos State government has boasted that it has demolished at least 300 distressed buildings in the state to prevent the collapse of buildings and untimely death of the residents of the state.

Lagos State government officials today boasted that about 85% of the 354 identified distressed buildings in the state have been removed.

According to the government source, the removal of extensions and collapse sites in various parts of the state included Fola Osibo Road, Freedom Way, Admiralty Road, and Awolowo Road.

Commissioner for physical planning while giving his report at the state's ministering press briefing stated that the biological were removed to have a rebirth of Lagos.

The development has been welcomed by the majority of the residents of the state while some residents accused the government of destroying people's businesses.
